Black Dog Bone at Istana Budaya

by midon on Jul.20, 2009, under Uncategorized

When the news came out that Carefree and Black Dog Bone (BDB) is to perform together at Istana Budaya, I was excited. I grew up listening to the songs from these 2 bands in the 70s and 80s. Even now, all those songs still bring back the memories. But, at the end only Jay Jay and Rahim Othman of the Carefree group joined BDB to perform as they have some internal issues. So on 8th May 2009, we went to see Jay Jay and BDB at Istana Budaya. What can I say, seeing and listening to Jay Jay live, rendering Rindu Bayangan, his voice is still exactly as I heard 20 years ago. Then BDB took over the stage and Jatt and the gang. Jatt’s voice is still powerful as in his youth. Even though he is over 50 years old, he still can hit high notes with ease. I will remember this concert for a long time. AF7-Week 8

by midon on Jul.14, 2009, under Uncategorized

My wife, my children and I went to see the AF7  week 8 concert at Bukit Jalil. Their assignment that week was to perform musical theater based on Muzikal P Ramlee, Puteri Gunung Ledang the Musical and Impak Maksima the musical. At the end Aishah and Claudia were voted out. But the drama started after that with Principal Tiara looked shocked and cried her heart out. She then announced the AFUNDI MASUK and immediately smiled. I dont really care because I just watch the show and never AFUNDI. There were few big names in our entertainment industry came for the concert such as Stephen Rahman Hughes, Ahmad Idhama and Musly Ramlee representing the 3 musicals. Here are the photos after the concert.

My Sister’s Vacation in Malaysia

by midon on Jul.14, 2009, under Uncategorized

On 9th March 2009, my sister Salbiah and family came back to Malaysia from Finland for vacation for a month. Her family consists of her Husband Nik Abdullah, her son Nik Mohd Fakhrul Zakirin, her daughter-in-law Mia and her grand-daughter, Aida. So, technically speaking, I hold grand-father status. This is equivalent to Datuk. My sister and her husband and her son went to Finland about 10 years ago. They all currently working in a company providing technical support to Nokia in Tempere, about 2 hours by car north of Helsinki. My nephew attended secondary and college education in Finland and eventually married Finnish girl and have a year old daughter. They are expecting a second child by year end. My parents were excited to see with their own eyes and to hold their first great-grand-daughter. The photos of them arriving can be seen here, the time we had our dinner gathering and the photo of them leaving for Finland here.

Bali

by midon on Jul.14, 2009, under Uncategorized

My wife and I went to Bali, Indonesia from 5th till 8th March 2009. This was a trip just to both of us only, as I tried to do it in March every year. Why March? It is the month of my birthday. Last year we went to Phuket around this time. Month of Nov or Dec traveling is with my family (children + sometimes parents and in-law). We took AirAsia flight from LCCT terminal around noon.

Among the places that we visited were Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Barungan Show at Batu Bulan, Batik and silver jewellery shops, an art centre (artist-I Wayan Mardiana) on the way to Ubud, Paddy Terrace at Tegallalang, Nusa Dua Beach, Turtle Island, Kintamani, Ulun Danu Beratan, Kuta and Legian Beach, Bali Bombing Memorial dan Tanah Lot. We stayed at Puri Dewa Bharata Hotel and Villas. The pictures of our Bali vacation can be viewed here.

PMR Result-30 Dec 2008

by midon on Jan.31, 2009, under Uncategorized

Today, we go to Sekolah Menengah Sains Tengku Abdullah (SEMESTA) in Raub, Pahang to collect my son’s PMR results which is announced today. My wife and I were having some restless night wondering how our son fares in the PMR exam.

When we arrive at SEMESTA, the results are already available and some of the students have already taken theirs. I asked the Deputy Headmaster about the schools’ result, and was told that 94 students or 74% got straight 8As. An increase from last year.

Haziq somehow is having cold feet. He waited for about 15 minutes at the front door of the hall until one of his friend come out and shows that he got 8As. His confidence is coming back to him and he goes in to collect his result. And Alhamdulillah, he got 8As. His present is an MP3 player, which I have not yet bought.

First Day at School-Jan 05,09

by midon on Jan.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

My son, Hariz Ezzat starts his first day at primary school today at Sekolah Kebangsaan Leftenan Adnan, Sungai Ramal, Kajang. So far this is the easiest day for my wife and I during the first day in school, if compared with the previous three similar occasions. The hardest was my first son, Haziq Ezman, 9 years ago. Hariz is eager to start his school days and we don’t even have to sit outside his classroom the most part of the morning (Sekolah Rendah Agama) and afternoon (sekolah Kebangsaan). So my son, abah hopes you will excel in your studies and able to study to the highest possible level.

Recent Upload

by midon on Jan.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

I have recently uploaded some of my old pictures, particularly pictures during my student’s days. It is under the link “memories” on the top right corner of this page. These pictures always reminded me of the good times when I don’t have to worry about economic downturn, social issues, political issues, etc. And I was quite slim during those days. I haven’t had the time as yet to put the caption on each pictures, so bear with me. I will do that as I got the time. In the meantime just browse the pictures. And there are also more recent uploaded pictures, which I will explain in detail later.
